joe's little mini mix -Vol #1

Here's a new little feature. a new mix of songs worth giving a look.

Wolf Parade "Modern World" -Bowie meets Modest Mouse from everyone's next favorite "it" band.

Man Man 'Zebra" - Unquenchable crazy surrealist music at its best. I love Man Man.

Broken Social Scene "Superconnected" and "Ibi Dreams of Pavement" - Two choice cuts from this Canadian Collective's upcoming masterwork

Metric "Monster Hospital" - The latest great rock dance song.
I fought the War, but the War won!!

Arcade Fire - "Haiti" - one of an album full of goodies.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah "Let the Cool Goddess Rust Away" - David Byrne and Jeff Magnum lovechild sings over perfect percussion.

so trendy these artists are but there is a reason. they're fucking good.

ESPN's New Star

Has anyone else noticed ESPN's new favorite son Stephen A. Smith's career increased in popularity around the same time he started to act like Dave Chappelle playing Samuel L. Jackson on his show? He's loud with catchphrases and hosts a self-centric sports show where he is over-opinionated and depleted of knowledge on most sports outside Basketball?

Mr. A Smith has about 10 guests every hour on "Quite Frankly" because if you had to listen to him answer questions from the audience like he does on the radio, it would showcase how over-the-top and non-analytical his sports knowledge really is? And he has a radio show? Who decided this guy needs like 4 hours a day to overvalue his opinion and talk like Samuel L. Jackson?

Quite frankly, he needs to get some knowledge about football and stop making momentary judgements on the spot that are be all and end all because that is not how sports truly are. Otherwise, he's decent.

Haven't You Seen My Movies???

just a thought.
